Amritsar, literally meaning “holy pool of nectar” is the spiritual and cultural centre of the
Sikh religion as it is home to the Golden Temple in India. The nucleus of this City, the
Harmandir Sahib, widely known as the Golden temple, today is on the threshold of being designated
as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
This Amritsar tour package, is an extension to the famous Golden Triangle of Delhi, Agra,
Jaipur, whereby you get to visit Amritsar which is famous for the Golden Temple that attracts
millions of tourists every year.
Arrival at Delhi where our representative will meet you and facilitate you to check
in at the Hotel. Proceed for a half day sightseeing tour of Delhi where you will
visit Old Delhi- the former center of Mughal power which offers ancient monuments,
narrow streets and bustling markets. Visit the Red Fort built in 1648 by the
great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan famous for his great edifice of love the Taj
Mahal. Also see the biggest mosque in India the Jama Masjid, constructed by Shah
Jahan in 1658. Ride a rickshaw through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk to get
a feel of the royal life of the Mughal emperors. Overnight at the Hotel.

Pick up from hotel and drop at the New Delhi Railway Station to catch the early morning
Swarn Shatabdi train to Amritsar. Train Departure at 7.20 A.M Breakfast will
be served on the train. Arrival Amritsar: 1.00 P.M where our representative will
receive you and take you to the Hotel. Check in and lunch at the hotel. 4.00-
4.30 P.M depart for Wagah Border to watch Border Retreat. The pageant of the
beating of the retreat and the change of guard within handshaking distance of
the Indian and Pakistani forces.It is amazing and makes the most charming spectacle
of a daily evening drill with the waving of flags and the audience getting into
a frenzy and shouting slogans on both sides. Wagah is the only land border open
between India and Pakistan. Return by 7.00 P.M and take the evening tour to the
famous Golden Temple the most sacred temple for the Sikhs, as the view at night
is completely mesmerizing. It is a symbol of the magnificence and strength of
the Sikh people all over the world. Dinner at a restaurant in the city and return
to the hotel.

Visit the Jallianwala Bagh famous for the most notorious massacre that took place
during the times of the British and which shook up the sentiments of all Indians.
Today the park holds testimony to all that it had witnessed in the past. There
are bullet marks on the walls, the well where many women and children lost their
lives while running in panic, and the exact place where General Dyer stood to
give his orders has been marked. A memorial has also been built for all those
who lost their lives. Also visit Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Museum which has been
built in his summer palace and contains weapons dating back to the Mughal times
and some portraits of the ruling houses of Punjab and a replica of the famous
diamond “kohinoor”. Return to the hotel in time for lunch and some rest. Later
drop off to the Amritsar Railway Station to board the Shatabdi Express for Delhi
departing at 5.00 P.M Arrive at Delhi at 10.40 P.M- where our representative
will meet you and drop you to your hotel.

After an early breakfast, leave for Agra which is 205 kms from Delhi and about a
four hour drive. Reach Agra and check in at the Hotel. After some rest visit
visit the famous monument of love- the Taj Mahal. This most famous Mughal monument
was constructed by Emperor Shahjahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal who died
while giving birth to his 14th child and after just 17 yrs of marriage. It has
been described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love. The Taj
Mahal is not open to visitors on Fridays. Post lunch Visit the Agra Fort which
lies at the bend of the river Yamuna. It was built by Emperor Akbar as his citadel
over the years 1563-73 in the finest architectural style.

Visit Fatehpur Sikri en route to Jaipur. Fatehpur Sikri is the deserted red sandstone
city that was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the 16th century.
Stop at Abhaneri Step Wells on the way to Jaipur. Arrive at Jaipur and check
in at the Hotel. Later proceed for sightseeing where you will visit City Palace
in the heart of the old city which is the former royal residence that houses
a museum with a superb collection of Rajasthani costumes and an armoury of the
Mughals and the Rajputs. Near the Palace is Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory,
the largest of Jai Singh’s five remarkable observatories.
Evening at leisure & overnight stay.
This morning visit the famous Amber Fort and Palace. The fort is a striking example
of Rajput architecture situated on a hill side and overlooking a lake, which
reflects the fort’s ramparts and terraces. Here you will be taken on an elephant
back, in the traditional royal style to the main gate of the Fort Visit Also
visit the landmark of the “Pink City” the Hawa Mahal or the palace of winds,
built to enable the ladies of the royal household to watch the processions passing
in the street without being seen. In the afternoon visit Lakshmi Narayan Temple
built in Marble on Moti Doongri hilltop. Also visit Albert Hall Museum containing
a rare collection of decorative art objects, paintings, sculptures and the well
known Persian Golden Carpet. Evening free for shopping at Jaipur.

In the morning drive back to Delhi (4 hrs). Proceed for a half day sightseeing tour
which will cover “New Delhi” which is also known as Lutyens Delhi, taking after
the name of a British architect who designed the India Gate, Presidential House,
Secretariat, Parliament House and many other buildings in that area. Drive on
to see the tallest tower in Delhi, known as Qutub Minar & Lotus Temple. After
completing your sightseeing tour of Delhi, drop off at airport for flight to
onward destination.
